How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

In general, you should have your carpets cleaned about every 6-12 months, the more people, pets, and traffic that are in the home, the more often you should have your carpets cleaned.

Why should I have my carpets cleaned?

There are many reasons to have your carpets cleaned. First, just think of all the dust, dirt, dander and allergens, your vacuum doesn’t pick up, Yuck! Second, regular carpet cleaning can extend the life of your carpet, some manufacture warranties require it in order to keep the warranty valid.

What Method of Carpet cleaning do you use?

We use what is known as a truck mounted hot water extraction, or “steam cleaning”.  This is the most recommended method of cleaning by manufactures, because it gets all that grossness out of your carpet without damaging the fibers.  We are always researching and using the best equipment and available to make sure your carpets are as clean as possible!

What should I do to prepare for my carpet cleaning?

-We do ask that you vacuum before had, or we can do it for you,

just ask which packages come with vacuuming included.

-It is helpful if all fragile items and décor are removed.

-We can move furniture (again ask for that package),

but beds, bookcases, fish tanks, ect will not be moved.

We can clean up to and underneath certain furniture items.

-If you have stains you are concerned about, it is helpful for us to know

what the stain is, so that we can best treat it.

-Lastly, we LOVE animals, but if you don’t think your pet will love us,

or might run out the door (as it will be left ajar for the hoses to come in)

than please put them in a separate area for safety purposes.

Will all my stains come out?

It depends. Some are just that stains that have discolored the carpet. But we are able to get whatever caused the stain out of the carpet. For example, not all pee stains are we able to get of the carpet, but all the pee and enzymes will be removed, the discoloration may be all that is left.

How long will it take my carpet to dry?

On average it takes 4-6 hours, on hot dry days it may take less,

and on cold rainy days it may take a little longer.

How long until I can walk on my carpets?

You can walk on your carpets, with socks on, as soon as we leave. It will still be damp, but you won’t damage the carpet by walking on it with socks.  We recommend you limit walking on it until it is full dry.

Also be careful going from the wet carpet to hard surfaces such as tile or hardwood floors, and it will be slippery. We recommend you put a non-slick mat at those transitions if you have one available.

Why are spots reappearing after cleaning?

This is called “wicking”(this will typically happen within the first 2-3 days after cleaning). The spot that was treated seeped back into the backing of the carpet and sometimes the padding as well. This happens most often with pet urine or large spills. When the carpet is cleaned, the stain is removed from the pile (fiber) of the carpet, but has the carpet dries, the moisture settles back into the carpet pile and makes the stain reappear. This can usually still be removed but it may take a couple spot treatments to completely remove the stain.  There is no need to worry about cost, as we are happy to come back and take care of any wicking that may take place.

Will the cleaning take care of the carpet’s odors?

Our cleaning process will remove most, if not all, of the usual order. Some other odors such as pet urine, can linger, but those can be taken care of as well.  This may take several attempts, but we will do our very best to get all odors gone.
